New Braunfels Unicorn senior basketball player Lance Beeghley earned the top award in Class 6A District 27 – Most Valuable Player.

Beeghley, who has signed to play football at SMU, led the Unicorns during a historic season, in which the team broke the school record for wins (31) and won its first district title in three decades.

The season came to a close for New Braunfels in the area round on Feb. 23, falling just short to one of the top teams in the state, Lake Travis.

Along the way, many other Unicorns also had great seasons on the hardwood and in the classroom.
