A pair of New Braunfels High School seniors have been selected to play in the San Antonio Sports All-Star football game in January. Offensive lineman Gavin Espinoza and kicker Boone Partee were announced to represent Team Gold in the game.

The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by Valero will feature 116 student athletes from 67 high schools. The game will be played on Saturday, January 6, at the Alamodome. It’s the 46th anniversary of the game, in which the area’s top senior players will take the field at 5 p.m. The game follows the All-American Bowl which kicks off at noon.

One ticket serves as admission for both the All-American Bowl and San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game. General admission ($15) and reserved tickets ($25) will go on sale later this month. The game will also be broadcast on The CW35 and San Antonio Sports Star 94.1 FM/1250 AM radio.

Players were nominated by their high school coaches. One-hundred ten players were named to All-District teams last year. In addition to physical skills, players who are All-Stars reflect perseverance, character and inner strength.

The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game will feature players who are committed to play for some of the top universities in the country as well as those looking for an additional chance to impress college scouts with potential scholarships to offer. Fifty-four who were in the 2023 All-Star Game signed to play college football, including seven committed to Trinity University, five to Mary Hardin-Baylor and five to West Texas A&M. Thirteen are going to NCAA DI schools.
