Former Unicorn Jordan Westburg is making waves in the big leagues.

The Class of 2017 New Braunfels High School graduate who is now playing for the Baltimore Orioles was named the American League Player of the Week on April 22.

He earned the honor after hitting .478 in 23 at bats with two home runs, eight RBI, two doubles, a triple, a walk, five runs scored, a stolen base and a .913 slugging percentage in six games played.

Westburg, an infielder on the American League East leading Orioles, currently is also leading Major League Baseball in batting average. Following his time with the Unicorns, Westburg played collegiately for the Mississippi State Bulldogs before becoming a first round pick in the 2020 MLB Draft.
