Four New Braunfels High School wrestlers have qualified for the state meet that will be held in Houston during Presidents’ Day Weekend.

At regionals, Colin McQuone, a junior, took fourth place at the Region 4 Class 6A event that was held Feb. 9-10 at North East ISD in San Antonio. McQuone wrestles in the 132-pound range and holds a 34-12 record this season. He also was the 15-6A district champion this season.

Miller Marsh is a sophomore who wrestles in the boys 285-pound range and he too was district champion this season. He took fifth at regionals, qualifying him as a state alternate. Marsh holds a 23-9 record this season.

Freshman Cruz Morales also took fifth-place at the regional event. He has a record of 31-12 this year and was district runner-up in the boys 126-pound range. He also will be heading to state as an alternate.

Fellow freshman Leila Wetzel will be making a trip as a state alternate too. She took sixth place at the regional event and fourth at district. This season, she holds a record of 18-19 in the girls 107-pound class.
