Parents who have children who attend several New Braunfels ISD schools will be impacted by a traffic closure on the east side of town. The schools in the area of the closure include Klein Road Elementary, Voss Farms Elementary, New Braunfels Middle School, the Ninth Grade Center as well as the NBISD Transportation Department.

The area of the closure will be on Klein Road between Dove Crossing Drive and Roadrunner Avenue, where a bridge is being constructed to alleviate potential issues of a low-water crossing.

This section of Klein Road is expected to be closed until the end of September. Families who are accustomed to accessing Klein Road from FM 725 can either turn onto County Line Road and then onto Walnut, or they can turn onto Zipp Road from FM 725, and then onto Klein Way which intersects with Klein Road.

Delays can be expected at the beginning and end of the school days as many motorists will be required to take alternative routes.

The Klein Road bridge improvement project is part of a City of New Braunfels Bond that was approved in 2019.
