It was the second time in as many years that the New Braunfels High School volleyball team has earned at least a share of the district crown. This year’s Lady Unicorns split the district title with Steele and Clemens after going 8-2 in district play and 28-17 overall.

New Braunfels had an early exit from the UIL state playoffs after drawing one of the top teams in the area in the bi-district round. San Antonio Reagan defeated the Lady Unicorns 3-1 on Tuesday, October 31.

However, the Lady Unicorns still reeled in several district accolades for their play on the court as well as what they did in the classroom.

Maddie O’Gorman and Evyn Clark brought home major district superlatives as Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year in District 27-6A.

First Team All-District honors went to Blaise House, Bailey Scott and Kingsley Minus. Sofia Bendele, Jaelynn Reyes and Kendall Kreusler were named all district second team. Honorable Mention honors were awarded to Katie Wadas, Brooklyn Kasuba and Hannah Grohman.

Additionally, 15 members of the Lady Unicorns were named to the Academic All-District Team. Academic All-District members included:
