The New Braunfels High School Mighty Unicorn Band delivered a strong performance in less than ideal weather conditions at the Bands of America Competition in Waco.
The Bands of America contest was held on October 28, and the Unicorn Band had a great preliminary run. For the first time since 1998, the band was named a Bands of America Regional Finalist.
However, the final performances were cancelled due to inclement weather.

Bands of America Regional Championships are complete championships and educational events in their own right, not qualifying events for the Grand National Championships. Up to 32 bands perform in preliminary competition with 12 bands advancing to the evening Finals.
