The New Braunfels ISD administration is excited to announce Mary Aaron as the new Director of Transportation. She assumed her role on July 6.
Aaron served as the Director of Transportation at Floresville ISD, a position that she held since 2014. Her experience includes more than two decades working in education management, transportation and operations.
“I am so thankful for the opportunity to lead the NBISD transportation department,” said Aaron. “I am thrilled to meet all of the staff throughout the district and see what the NB culture is all about. I am most eager for our department to be recognized as we continue to grow and pave new roads as the community continues to expand and develop.”
Aaron has worked in education for the last 24 years. Prior to working at Floresville ISD, she was the Director of Transportation and Custodial at Devine ISD. From 2001 to 2008 Aaron held several positions at Northside ISD, including station manager, South station assistant manager and Rhodes station assistant director’s secretary. She also previously served as personnel coordinator for Liberty Union HSD in California. Aaron has also worked in sales, marketing and customer service for large private sector technology and aerospace companies.
Her experience includes supervising a workforce of 50 to 275 employees and providing transportation services for 1,000 to 10,000-plus students for as many as 24 schools at one time.
Over the last two-plus decades, Aaron has served as a certified official for the Texas Association of Pupil Transportation (TAPT) as well as being a member of the Texas Association of School Board Officials. She also holds a Texas Class B CDL with five endorsements.
“Mrs. Aaron was the committee’s unanimous choice,” said Dr. Clint McLain, NBISD Chief Operations Officer. “Her combination of experience and presence was exactly what the committee believed was needed for the transportation department at this time.”
The NBISD Director of Transportation is responsible for managing transportation operations while overseeing and maintaining all district vehicles and buses. The director also works to ensure safety and protection for students and staff as well as maintaining and promoting a safe, orderly environment that complies with all state and federal statutes relating to safety.
Aaron resides in Adkins with her husband of 17 years, Shane, and their two dogs. She is the proud mother of two sons and two daughters. In her free time she enjoys any outdoor adventure, especially riding UTVs and camping.
