New Braunfels High School photography students claimed scores of awards at the Greater New Braunfels Arts Council Youth Photography Contest.

The event was held at the New Braunfels Civic Center on Saturday, March 16. Students present represented NBISD, Comal ISD and Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD.

Fifteen students from NBHS received awards for their photography projects. Those students included:

Emma Sharp – 1st Place, Portraits
Haley Becker – 2nd Place, Portraits
Grayson Williams – Honorable Mention, Portraits
Juliana Howard – Honorable Mention, Portraits
Conner Thompson – 1st Place, Monochromatic Photographer’s Choice
Selena Velards – Honorable Mention, Monochromatic Photographer’s Choice
Chrisanna Gough – Honorable Mention, Architecture and Monochromatic Photographer’s Choice
Joaquin Silva – 3rd Place, Architecture
Richard Lozoya – 3rd Place, Landscapes

Some of these students also have submitted their works to the Photographic Society of America’s 2024 Youth Showcase. This showcase is an international competition that takes place in April.

The Youth Showcase is open to all students, ages 14 – 18, who are attending high school or its equivalent worldwide. The Showcase is an excellent opportunity for eligible students to share their work and receive recognition for their efforts.
