The New Braunfels High School (NBHS) Landa Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) inducted 117 new members at its annual induction ceremony on November 29th, bringing in 5,000 cumulative hours of community service, the highest of any inducted class in NBHS history.

Since its founding in 1921, NHS has served to honor students demonstrating excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

To be extended membership, junior or senior students must have a cumulative GPA of 5.7000 or above on the 8.0000 scale used to calculate class rank. They must also have proof of community service hours as part of their application.

NHS is a student-run organization. This year’s induction ceremony was led by Allison Davis (President), Kyla Trlica (Vice-President), Matthew VanWormer (Secretary), and Paislee Condor (Historian-Reporter) with support from the organization’s sponsors, Rachel Turner and Aunika Garza.
