The acclaimed author of the heralded Pete the Cat children’s books made some stops around NBISD during the week of January 22nd.

Eric Litwin, author of the first four Pete the Cat books, visited and performed for several NBISD students throughout the week.

On January 26th, he stopped by County Line Elementary, where sang some of his (and the students’) favorite tunes, including “His four groovy buttons” and “”I love my white shoes!” Litwin also spoke to students about becoming an author, being published, making money and how to use imagery to entice the mind.

Students were asked by Litwin to “Rock out like Metallica” as he strummed his guitar while singing lines from his books. Lessons about how to stay positive when times are tough were also highlighted by Litwin, who formerly was a public school teacher.

Litwin even called up some special guests in the form of teachers and students. Mackenzie Crawford said she was really excited when she was granted the opportunity to stand on stage with Litwin, while singing along.
