NBISD District 4 Trustee Jackie Sanders has resigned from the Board of Trustees, effective immediately. The announcement came during a special meeting that was held on Monday, April 15, where the board approved Sanders’ resignation due to personal reasons.

The board announced that a special election will be held this November to fill the newly-vacant district 4 position.

“We are going to call for a special election in eight months, but I want the public to be rest assured that as an entity, and as the board, we all make decisions that are in the best interest of the entire school district,” said Board President Eric Bergquist. “Even more specifically, we have Megan Stratemann-Willis and Kim Goodwin who are at-large trustees who actually encompass the geography that encompasses district 4. We just want to make sure that the constituents of district 4 feel well represented by the entity of the board, and more specifically, our two at-large trustees.”

The Board of Trustees extended its appreciation to Sanders for her time of service on the NBISD board.
