Food from all around the area will be on display as there will be something for everyone to sample at this year’s annual Taste of the Town.
The event will be held from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the New Braunfels Civic Convention Center (375 S. Castell St.) on Feb. 1, and ticket holders will wine and dine with proceeds going toward the New Braunfels ISD Education Foundation.
The NBISD Education Foundation has been working to provide grants to improve the learning environment for students and teachers within NBISD.
“We are all about inspiring learning, enriching teaching and enhancing the opportunities for the teachers and students of NBISD,” said Reagan Parks, the foundation’s executive director.
Taste of the Town serves as the foundation’s largest fundraiser each year. Funds raised from the event go toward educational grants that are awarded to educators seeking to aid literacy and help extracurricular programs purchase equipment. Some of the funds are used to buy instruments or pay for students to go on field trips.
“We want to do everything we can do to enhance the learning of our students every year,” Parks said.
The foundation also provides NBISD teachers who are new to the profession a grant to purchase items for their classrooms.
The foundation would like to thank all of the event’s sponsors, especially the True Blue Sponsors Joeris General Contractors and the McKenna Foundations. Additionally, they would like to thank the Taste of Town Gold Sponsors: Huckabee Architects; Hunter Industries, Ltd./Wesman Equipment/Colorado Materials; Martin Marietta; McCreary, Veselka, Bragg & Allen, P.C. Attorneys at Law (MVBA); Stantec; and Veramendi Charitable Foundation.
About 40 area restaurants will be on hand for the event, serving up tasty samples of their best menu items.
Those who attend will get to go around the room and sample bite-size tastes of each participant and restaurant that attend, while raising money for a great cause.
This event would not be possible without the donation of time and tastes from: Bahama Bucks; The Birdhouse, Fancy Chicken & Fine Wine; Butcher Boy Taco House; Chicken Salad Chick; Clear Springs Catering & Decorating; Coffee on the Knox; Comal Pops; Cravings; Dos Rios Mexican Bar & Grill; Dry Comal Creek Vineyards; Elixir Coffee & Tea; Fluffy Cheeks Sweets Co.; Freiheit Country Store; Giza Egyptian Eatery; Harvey Jacobs Catering; The Honeybaked Ham Co.; Huisache Grill; Iron Horse Bar & Grill; Le Citron European Cafe; Lucy Cooper’s; The Mess Around at Crosswalk; Mi Frijoles Catering Company; Mighty Oak BBQ; Mob Shots Coffee Company; Montana Mike’s Steakhouse; New Braunfels Smokehouse; New Braunfels Tortilleria; On the Grind; The Original Black’s Barbecue; Pier Sushi; Popbelly’s Popcorn; The Reel Seafood & Grill; Rita’s Italian Ice and Custard; Roost Chicken Salad & Deli; Rudy’s Country Store & Bar-B-Que; Southern Tapsters; Tamale Joe; Texas Bistro at Park View; Tipsy Cow Ice Cream; Tri-City Distributors; UBP Burgers & Catering; Water 2 Wine; Wings & Rings.
