David Brawner won his 200th career game as the Unicorns head basketball coach following a win over the Texas Military Institute on Nov. 22.
Brawner’s team is off to a hot start again this year with a 6-0 record. He is coming off of a historic season in which he was named the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Don Coleman Outstanding Coach Award for Class 6A after New Braunfels went 29-6 overall, the winningest season in Unicorn history.
After playing for the Unicorns, Brawner has had coaching stops at Southwest, Farris and Troy before returning home in 2014 to take the helm at his alma mater. He has amassed 342 total wins as a head coach at all of his coaching stops.
Brawner’s Unicorns will take the court in a tough battle against former district opponent San Antonio Wagner as he goes for win 201 on Nov. 28. Tip off is set for 7p.m. at NBHS.
